Senior SQL Server Database Administrator
Beverly Hills, CA
The Database Administrator is responsible for supporting and coordinating all database activities. This includes running scripts, database tuning, monitoring, backup and recovery, designing and creating databases, resolving complex database related problems, and monitoring/managing all database modifications and changes.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall performance, tuning, and backup/recovery of all installed MSSQL and MySQL databases across all environments
- Proactive Maintenance and Monitoring of all instances of MSSQL and MySQL Server servers
- Write custom scripts to automate various daily DBA operations
- Provide required reports from production environment to other departments on request basis and perform data analysis to provide management with timely and accurate information
- Work directly with Engineers on data modeling, logical/physical schema design, SQL query tuning; and the application of data related business rules while assisting in troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of MSSQL and MySQL DBA experience
- Strong performance tuning and capacity planning experience
- Strong familiarity with database replication, clustering, and log shipping
- Strong in T-SQL skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering or related field
- Strong problem solving abilities, strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team and individually
- Experience using database monitoring tools and third party monitoring tools
- Clear understanding of RDBMS and ATTRIBUTE Model fundamentals
Requirements:
- Be able to provide 24 x 7 production support on a rotating basis
- Ability to travel, generally less than 10% of the year
